i guess you could become a concert pianist but you probably wouldn't be proffesional until a later age.

2 pieces a year is okay. Because you are learning hard pieces! They take time to learn and not just brush off.

Thats really cool that you can learn all of that stuff all at once! I just learn 2 pieces a year

wow nice repetoire. especially for only 5 years! that makes me feel bad

at the moment i'm learning a whole bunch of stuff. I'm working on Clair de lune now. I've already done Fur Elise and Rondo Alla turca. I'm working on Beethovens 'The Tempest' the third movement. Ah.. i'm also working on Grande Valse Brillante by chopin i absolutely love that piece. And i've also started Appasionata by beethoven aswell. I've also got my 4 exam pieces i'm working on. And in my spare time i like try and learn, some piano concertos like, mozarts 21st and 26th and beethovens 'empereor' but those aren't really going that well
I'd love to be a concert pianist but at the rate i'm going i probably won't be. You need to be a child prodigy nower days. lol

well I just recentlly finished learning the Rondo Alla Turca by Mozart... (in my compitions you have to learn and memorize a forgien composers piece and an American composers piece)
the year before that I played Fur Elise by Beethoven (my favorite composer) I have played Claude Debussy who composed the Clair De Lune,
and this year I am playing a diffuclut (in my opinion) piece by Beethoven. It is Sonata in C Minor, op. 13 (in other words *Pathetique*) and I am playing the Second movement...I am hoping to eventually be able to play the whole piece, but that will have to wait for now..^^ I am also learning The Maple Leaf Rag, by Scott Joplin...phew what a lot to say!! lol
Where I live we have levels that range from primary (EASY!!) to Very Difficult (that is self explainatory) and I am in Difficult I...I am hoping to major in the piano and clarinet someday...

I've been playing piano for 9 years. I'd like to compete in competitions but i don't know if i'm good enough. I'm Grade 6 AMEB (Australian Music Education Board) in my piano exams.

I have only been playing the piano for 5 years, but I am the best in my class...
I compete in competitions all the time. I was a finalist in a state competition, but unfortunately, I froze up. lol Oh well, if you play in a lot of concerts and recitals, you are bound to mess up eventually.

I just have to comment to you because I saw that you play the piano, and I do too..heh, I am surprised because where I live there is little to no intrest in the piano and some people look down on me because I do...I just wanted to say.....POWER TO THE PIANIST!!
